This is from Kimberly about this year's Christmas Around the World. Please remove the space between the @ sign and gmail when replying to her or your message will bounce:
Hi all!
Sorry this is going out a bit later than I had planned on, I've been very ill but I figured this can't wait any longer so I'm sending it now!!
It's time once again for the Christmas Around The World freebie collab kit!!!
Last year was an incredible success! It was amazing to see all the designers participate in this huge kit and besides sending 4shared into a state of shock for a day or two it went off without a hitch!
From the feedback I received everyone seemed extremely happy about the increase in traffic to their sites and most expressed and interest in participating again this year!
So if you're a digital designer and you'd like to get in on The Christmas Around The World Freebie Kit - just send an email to fishinmomdesigns@ gmail.com and I'll send you out the information and color swatch for this years kit! This is open to all designers whether you've been established for years or are brand new to the amazing world of digital scrapbooking! Digital scrapbook site owners - if you'd like to include your store/designers please just email me!
For the rest of you keep your eyes open!! The Christmas Around The World Event starts December 12th!!! Make sure you have lots of hard drive space on you computers because if it is anything like last year this freebie kit is going to be HUGE!!!

'Big Jim' the Cowboy
Kits: October Harvest by RoseMade Designs, All in a Tumble by Ilona Hamp (background paper used as journaling tag), Banana Mango by RoseMade Designs (background papers), Tough as Nails QP by Jen Hanson (used as a small element)
Fonts: Folkard, Arial Narrow
Journaling: Upon his retirement, my Great Uncle Jim created "Big Jim" because he was passionate about the Old West -- he loved reading books by Louis L'Amour -- even though he had never been farther west than St. Louis. With an artisan's attention to detail, it took him more than a year to craft the 20-foot tall, 3 1/2-ton sculpture, which shows the cowboy with a cocked, long-barreled six-shooter in his right hand and a flintlock muzzle-loader along his left side. His neckerchief is made of a yard-wide swath of steel, hand-formed to resemble folds of cloth and hand-cut fringe borders on his buckskin jacket and on his wide-brimmed 10-gallon hat with its turned up edges, and a watch fob made from a recycled antique stove. He also has glass eyes. Metal "rawhide" fastens the jacket in place of buttons. The sculpture was put into place with a crane in 1978 amid much fanfare and publicity and it immediately turned into a head-turning landmark. Since Uncle Jim passed away, his family decided to donate him to Charleroi. Ultimately, he was moved to nearby Bentleyville where he is on display in front of the Best Western hotel.

10 Weeks Before Christmas Challenge
10 Weeks Before Christmas Challenge
Twas 10 weeks before Christmas when all through the store,
All the scrappers were sighing from birthday freebies galore.
The new designers were uploading to Zen cart with care,
In hopes that their products soon would be there.
The children were nestled all snug in their beds,
while visions of layouts danced in their Mom's heads.
With our spiffy chat room and a fancy new blog,
we were ready to settle down when away went the fog.
Up on the boards there arose such a clatter,
we all came rushing to see what was the matter.
We sprang to the forum with our internet so fast,
clicked on all the challenges, and let out a gasp.
The computer glow on the K-Joi forum
gave us hope that ALL would come.
For what to our wondering eyes should appear
but a brand new challenge to relieve all fear!
With a little known designer, cheerful and FUN,
All knew that the host would be April Dawn.
Quick to the rescue of Christmas she came,
and listed the many challenges by name...
The Calendars! The Gift Lists! The Ornaments! The Cards!
Digi Gifts, Hybrid Gifts, Wrapping, and Rewards!!
To prepare us for Christmas, To prepare us ALL!
Now scrap away, scrap away, SCRAP AWAY ALL!!!

It starts October 20th...Monday, and goes through Christmas itself! And it ends with a BIG BANG...stay tuned!! Weekly Chats at K-Joi Studios
Cartoon Chat
While the kids (and hubby) are watching cartoons on Saturday morning, or at soccer practice, or sleeping in... join fellow scrappers for a fun, relaxing chat, with one of K-Joi's newest designers, KatLen!
It starts at 10:00 am US Central time and ends... whenever we stop chatting - we carried on for a while last week!
This week's topics include:
* Digital Scrapbooking Day
* What are you making for Christmas?
* What are you making for Christmas?
but we will chat about anything that is fun!
Cheeky Chat
This is for all our friends who are usually sleeping during US chat times (and those night owls who like to stay up late chatting!)
The chat starts at 2:00 am US central time and will go on as long as you can keep chatting.
Here's a note from your hostess, Liz "Seeing as though it is nearly Halloween, I was thinking of giving you all a challenge to complete..in fact why not? I have almost completed a very special kit that you can use to dress up your pets.. So, I have decided to put a sampling of the elements into a freebie for a limited time for all of you to play with...oh and a bonus background of a theatre and spotlight too....you will have heaps of fun doing this with hats and wigs, sunglasses and even a mustache.
For participating in this chat you get a link to the kit I mentioned and then I will ask you to scrap a page with your little furry darlings by Halloween. Then I will put a poll up and we will vote on our most favorite and the winner there will get a prize from the prize vault....this sounds so exciting so please come to the chat. If you can't make it to the chat, post on this thread to participate in the challenge

Tribute to My Hero, Todd
Kit: Emozioni by Adelina
Font: Arial
Journaling: These are photos taken along my recent journey across the USA. As I relish in the glorious morning skies, and go throughout each day, and find peace in each sunset, my thoughts are often of family and friends. This is a tribute to my friend; Todd Bishop of Interlachen, Florida; who was wounded in Iraq and has had both of his legs amputated. Todd, YOU are my hero!
(Excerpt from the lyrics to "Hero" by Mariah Carey)
There's a hero if you look inside your heart You don't have to be afraid of what you are There's an answer if you reach into your soul And the sorrow that you know will melt away And then a hero comes along with the strength to carry on And you cast your fears aside and you know you can survive So when you feel like hope is gone, look inside you and be strong And you'll finally see the truth, that a hero lies in you

Last Chance Canal, Soda Springs, Idaho
Kit(s): Doodle Grunge by Susan Blanton, Grab bag 1 by Micha Zink of Heckenwerge Designs (frames - recolored)), Forever Friends by Aimee (swirl elements)
Font(s): Thirteen O clock, Acroterion JF
Journaling: Last Chance Canal, Soda Springs, Idaho. When we visited the canal while on my road trip, my brother, Rich, found a rotting cougar carcass. He dragged it up to the top of the rocks so we could get a good look (and not so good smell), whipped out his trusty pocket knife when I declared the jaw bone, and cut away the remaining unpleasantly aromatic tissue from it and handed it to me. (Hey, what are little brothers for? LOL) I shipped this item home via the U.S. Postal Service with many other items. However, this was one of the boxes that arrived damaged and no cougar jaw bone was to be found.
